50 Questions: About Me
I was initially overwhelmed with answering 50 questions about me, but I thought in doing so it may generate some thoughts for a another post. It did, but later for that.
Here's my response to 50 questions:
1. What time did you get up this morning?
5:45 - it was the best nights sleep. I went to bed at 9 and there were no interruptions
2. How do you like your steak?
I don’t eat beef
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
Mr. Popper’s Penguins - it was cute
4. What is your favorite TV show?
Modern Family - a guaranteed laugh.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
I’m not sure where that would be. I want four seasons, a Winter with one or two stay-at-home snows, a Spring with no pollen, a Summer with no high above 85, Autumn with colors, no hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, floods, tsunami’s, fires, blizzards, mudslides or volcanos. Where is that?
6. What did you have for breakfast?
Two pieces of wheat bread, with spray butter & honey and a cup of coffee.
7. What is your favorite food?
Sushi, but I haven’t had it in forever. I’m picky about where I eat it (here is not the place).
8. Foods you dislike?
Peas - I wish this list was longer
9. Favorite place to eat?
Olive Garden - Chicken marsala with extra sauce - yum
10. Favorite dressing?
My balsamic vinegar and olive oil
11. What kind of vehicle do you drive?
7 year old Honda Accord
12. What are your favorite clothes?
Slacks, 3 1/4 or so inch heels, pretty blouse
13. Where would you visit if you had the chance?
I love the scene in the 1994 Love Affair where “Mike Gambrell and Terry McKay” go to visit his grandmother. Wherever that was, I would love to visit.
14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?
I try to stay positive so 1/2 full
15. Where would you want to retire?

16. Favorite time of day?
Mornings after I get working out over with.
17. Where were you born?
Up north but I’m a southern girl
18. What is your favorite sport to watch?
Absolutely none. If I have to pick, I’ll say basketball but I’ll be doing something else while I’m “watching”.
19. What is your favorite fragrance?
Yankee Candle Midsummer’s Night.
20. What is your favorite face cream?
I haven’t found one yet - not for a reasonable price. I’d love to go back to the days of only needing baby lotion.
21. Favorite baby/kids products?
Johnson and Johnson's baby lotion
22. People watcher?
When I go to restaurants I like guess whose married and whose dating.
23. Are you a morning or night person?
Morning. The sun sets in my personality starting at 7:00 PM.
24. Do you have any pets?
No, but sometimes I would like a dog. We are a military family, so when we settle down, I’ll start begging. I don’t want to move with a dog.
25. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share?
The high will be sunny and 66 on Saturday. Woo-hooo!
26. What did you want to be when you were little?
A writer - still do.
27. What is your favorite memory?
I’m going to go back to childhood because its too hard to pick one from my adult life. I remember a Christmas when my mom explained that it would seem like my brother (7 years younger) was getting more stuff, but toys were cheaper than buying things for an 11 year old. I understood. I got three books, one was a book of poetry by Langston Hughes. On the inside my mom wrote: To my future writer... Inside each book was a 50 dollar bill. That WAS a big Christmas! I have a picture of me with shiny eyes and one tear coming down my cheek. And my eyes are watering as I type this. Awwww. Sniff sniff.
28. Are you a cat or dog person?
Definitely a dog person.
29. Are you married?
Yep, 14 years!
30. Always wear your seat belt?
Absolutely!
31. Been in a car accident?
One bad one when I was four. I have a big scar on my leg and I still have snap shot memories. Mom and I were blessed! One fender bender driving mom’s car when I was a new driver, and one with my son a few years ago. He still knows the exact spot it happened - we were blessed too.
32. Any pet peeves?
People that don’t pick up their feet when they walk.
People that chew gum like a cow.
People that talk loud enough on their cell for you to know all their business.
People that don’t give you the right away, when you need to get out or over.
People that curse around your kids and then say excuse me or not

33. Favorite pizza toppings?
Veggie lovers + jalapenos.
34. Favorite flower?
Tulips, but they sure don’t last long
35. Favorite ice cream?
Pistachio Almond and Butter Pecan (they have to taste like Baskin Robbins not Ben & Jerry’s).
36. Favorite fast food restaurant?
Chick-fil-A
37. How many times did you fail your driver's test?
Once. I really didn’t know how to drive yet. I was trying “fake it ‘til you make it” and driving a stick. I think the car cut off for all three points of the three point turn. I’d love to know what the “tester” was thinking.
38. From whom did you get your last email?
Mom - just now.
39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
Best Buy - oh wouldn’t I love a shopping spree there!
40. Favorite book?
I loved Frank E. Peretti’s This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness. I read it 14 years ago- all 813 pages from the time I got off work on a Friday until sometime in the wee hours of Monday morning. My husband was deployed and I didn’t have anything else to do. If the book is ever released to Kindle I will read it again. But reading a paper book is so 3 years ago (for me).
41. Like your job?
I’m a SAHM, part-time photographer’s wife, aspiring this and aspiring that while also looking for a paycheck. Can’t say I really like it. If I could just pick one....
42. Broccoli?
Florets only. I don’t want the whole stalk or any stalk chunks mixed with florets.
43. What was your favorite vacation?
I would have to say the latest one, visiting my newlywed brother and my new sister-in-law this summer in San Diego.
44. Last person you went out to dinner with?
Dang hmmmm. Uh....dinner? Probably my husband, but I can’t remember.
45. What are you listening to right now?
My freakin’ computer. When I use it, it starts breathing hard.
46. What is your favorite color?
Easier to say - not pink.
47. How many tattoos do you have?
None, I don’t want one either.
48. Coffee drinker?
Absolutely, I have a Tassimo. I’m two questions away from fixing my afternoon cup.
49. Favorite drink?
Coffee first, then water. There really isn’t anything in between. Oh yeah, I love wine.
50. What word describes you best?
Face to face - I am reserved, sort of shy, an introvert. Being a part of social networking is turning that around though. I think that’s a good thing! Oh this question said one word. Uh - easygoing ;-)
