SOC Sunday: Facing the unknown

5 minute Stream of Consciousness...

I posted a newspaper clipping on Wordless Wednesday. It was one of the Love is… cartoons from the 80’s. I use to collect them. This one says Love is… Facing the unknown together.  My husband and I are facing an unknown together. He is getting ready to retire from the Marine Corps after 24 years of service.  After 14 years of marriage I feel like I am still trying to start a career. Well I am.  It is scary and exciting at the same time. He has a photography business that he had been working just as much as a full time job. The hard work has paid off that the business will now be his full time job.

Meanwhile I’ve wondered how we would do being so close together. I’ve been his assistant behind the scenes and now the scenes are coming together. I think we will be fine. As I continue to strive towards being a writer and promoting my books, being a mom a wife and a photographers assistant, I don’t know how I can be much more. But my relationship with Sallie Mae makes me have to get a real job.

This might not be a bad thing after all. As my husband is wrapping things up, he has been home more. In a short time we have been together more during the day that we have spent any evenings together in quite a while and I kind of like it. Sometimes.

Here’s the thing…but I’m not getting anything done. I’m so glad I wasn’t interrupted for the five minutes I had to write this.

This was my FIRST 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post.
  • Link up your post.
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.
