Who sneezed?

5 minutes: Read, set, go!

It’s not that I’m not a people person. I just don’t like being around sick ones. I am one that uses the sanitizing wipe for the cart in order to push it through the store. If the wipes are gone, I look at the snapshot of my mental list to see if I can carry the things I need.  I’m not all OCD about it. It’s just something about being older that getting sick isn’t a breeze. It last a long time. It takes a toll on the body. I don’t want to get sick. I don’t want my son to get sick, because I’ll get sick. That is the one thing I look forward to for school being out. No sick kids to contaminate mine.

I went on a field trip with my son on Thursday. We went to a farm. Dirty kids make me not a kid person. They brushed the sand in the parking lot to stir up the dirt, then they ate strawberries picked in the field. No one washed their hands before lunch.  I would have never known that Christopher ate lunch with dirty hands but I was glad I was there. I wasn’t even thinking about washing ours until somebody sneezed. That was the last straw.

Here’s the thing... (written after the five mins) I  usually read Fadra’s prompt in the middle of the night so that I can be ready set ready. My take is a little different. After I read it, I fell asleep and then had a dream that Christopher got some kind of infection. You know what the decorative vegetables look like with all the bumps on it? I don’t understand why anyone wants them on display. They kind of freak me out. I’ll see if I can find a picture. Anyway in the dream Christopher had these on his back. When I took him to the doctor, the doctor said, “Whoa!” and stepped back. Then he said, “Well he’s allergic to SOMEbody.”
