What do YOU do?
Whew. It's 8:59 pm. I thought I wasn't going to make it to Jana's Thinking Place today for my 5 minute brain dump. I'm kind of glad there wasn't a prompt today because I don't feel like thinking. Just write my thoughts.

Have you ever seen that hot dog commercial where this guy is asking his wife a whole bunch of stuff that she says, “No” to? One of the things he asks is, “Can I quit my job and start a blog?”
I think it’s funny if I am the only one in the room. But I kinda slink back in the shadows if anyone else is around. Essentially thats what I did. I quit my job - to go back to school. I graduated and the blog came later. Then I wrote and self-published a book.
I hate the question, “What do you do?” Because I don’t have a real “paid” answer.
I met someone recently at my sons swim lessons and the question came up and we both kinda whispered that we write in a blog. That was a first. I will sit with a stranger and talk and never promote myself. This day I said, “I write” she said, “Me too!” and we exchanged blog addresses. That was cool.

Since then I wondered, why don’t have a business card? Mommy cards exist. Blogging ones can too right?
Well today I gave myself a little treat. It was supposed to be a (dang times up) wait...
It was supposed to be a free treat. I went to a site where I could get 250 free business cards and ended up buying 100 (double sided) for $21.80. Not bad. I love them and I can’t wait to get them.
Hopefully I’ll be a little bit more bold on the street when I meet strangers and strike up a conversation. "I write, I blog, I have a book. Here's my card."
