I'm afraid of commitment

5 minutes go.... (freestyle - no editing - no prompt)

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

If you want to find out how many people REALLY read your blog, don’t share it anywhere. It’ll hurt your feelings or make your day.

I’ve tried it a few times. I wrote a post and it was my brain dump of sorts on this election and I didn’t care if anyone read it but it would be nice if someone did. I didn’t check my page views that day. It doesn’t matter who stopped by, the page views don’t say who stayed.

------

It’s it quiet out here of is it just me? I feel like everyone is doing NaNoBlo/ or the other one.

I’m am scared of that commitment. I started writing a book last year and I thought it was very good. But I lost my place and it was about finding myself. I don’t know where to start to re-begin - is that a word? I didn’t get the red squiggly. But I hate I started something I didn’t/couldn’t finish and that didn’t have a challenge attached to it. There’s no way I could commit to writing to actually finish something.

What I am going to try to commit to is spending a quiet hour with myself for the remaider of the month. Except for the days I am traveling. I planned to get up well not an hour earlier but 45 minutes. I usually get up at 5:45. I’ll get up at 5:00.  I’ll be staring at the ceiling through the dark anyway withthe time change.

Here' the thing...Times up so that's all I have to say about that.

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post (in the sidebar). .
  • Link up your post below.
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

I wrote and posted the above at 1:52 am. I shared it on my social networks, closed my laptop and went to bed.

So someone (that's the editor of my first book yall) was around to hear my tree fall. When I opened my e-mail at 6:06 am, I found this encouraging message!
