Decaf Rehab - Day One
The calendar is clear for our 7-day stint in decaf rehab.
The taxes are done, Spring Break is over, our spring allergies have subsided and we are well within our 10 good days of the month.
No more excuses.
The time is now.
The last time I successfully quit coffee, it happened by accident. I had had some painful dental work and I didn't want to drink it. My meds were so strong that I hallucinated - and yeah I didn't feel the caffeine withdrawals either.
I do love the taste of coffee, so I started drinking decaf whenever I was in the mood for a cup. Then I started drinking regular coffee again.
Now I want to get off coffee for a number of other reasons. I don't like being a slave to the morning cup - traveling with my pot, or drinking hotel coffee.
The worst is rushing around for church on Sunday, when it's already 80 degrees outside. I'm sweating and sloshing coffee and it's not enjoyable.
I am seriously beside myself.

Here's the thing. I don't know what's crazier, that I had this conversation out loud or that WE ARE really going through with this.
Wish us luck. It's going to be an incredulous journey to be chronicled or not. If I don't respond to comments or you don't see ME for the next seven days, that means Myself is not in the mood to talk.
