My Bed

REENACTMENT

I'm writing on the prompt "My Bed" today.

I was literally going to write this from my bed, but I decided I wouldn't want to go to sleep on this story.

REENACTMENT

I love my bed, getting in it at the end of the day is one of my favorite things. But what I first thought about for this prompt was how I love the style of my bed. Someone had a cannonball style bed when I was little, but I don't remember who. I always thought that when I became a grown up, that was the style I would get.

My husband and I had been married three years when we started buying furniture. Previously we had lived in government housing overseas, with government furniture. When we returned in the summer of 2000, one of the first things we bought was our bedroom set. I shopped for and found the cannonball style bed that I had always wanted.

Though in recent years I've felt it looks outdated, it's quality furniture that will last forever. Fortunately, I still love it.

Well the timer has run out on me before I got to the point....

So anyway, I took the photo above this morning, when I thought about the prompt from "my bed".

Just a word of caution if you ever own a cannonball style bed, do NOT "dress it".

Imagine waking up from the total darkness behind your eyelids to find a bedpost looming over you.

This is a Stream of Consciousness Friday post. It's the Week 3, of the old school blogging, prompt for the Finish the Sentence Friday writing community where I'm co-hosting with Kristi Campbell of Finding Ninee. This week we set a timer and write for 5 minutes on the prompt "My Bed"

Join us for next week's FTSF prompt where we will share a photo and tell the story behind it.
