Baby steps...

Betcha didn't know my first love was writing fiction did you? You wouldn't. There isn't a bit of fiction in my blog posts. Because you all love my non-fiction stories so much it makes me nervous to show you another side. So here goes...

Today I am participating in my first Trifecta writing challenge. This one is an easy place to start.

For this weekend's challenge, we'd like you to read the 33 words below and then add 33 of your own words to move the story along.  

The last strains of sunlight lingered in the corners, grasping every available point of refraction.  She slid her fingertips along the glass wondering if this was all there ever was. Or could be.

“Is there something wrong with your drink ma’am?”

The bartender broke her trance.

 “No. Thank you. It’s… I’m fine.

She got up and pushed the glass away.

“I need to call my sponsor.”
