Baby Steps Pt. 2

On September 7th I participated in my first Trifextra 33 word challenge. I have linked up each week that followed. 

For this weekend's challenge, we are to take one of our former Trifextra 33 word entries and build upon it with another 33 words.

I only had one fiction entry, and at least one commenter wanted to know what happened next.

We were given the first paragraph and then had to add 33 of our own words to move the story along. Part two begins after the ellipsis.

The last strains of sunlight lingered in the corners, grasping every available point of refraction.  She slid her fingertips along the glass wondering if this was all there ever was. Or could be.

“Is there something wrong with your drink ma’am?”

The bartender broke her trance.

 “No. Thank you. It’s… I’m fine.

She got up and pushed the glass away.

“I need to call my sponsor” ...

She cornered herself in a stall, pining for just one taste.

"I can't!"

"I just can’t.

He proclaimed, “You are stronger.” 

And she released the grip on what she held in her pocket.
