The Secretary Has A Story
Hopefully if you're reading this post, you're picking up where I left off with my last one, A Photo Story featuring The Secretary.
If not, you're not missing any background story, except for knowing who "the secretary" is. While I was writing for the Finish the Sentence Friday prompt, I dug up a bit of history by asking my mom a question. By the time I got to "The Secretary" in my post - I had another story to tell.

I Get Ocean Withdrawal

I grew up just a few short hours from Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina. My family would go to the beach at least once during the summer for a day trip or a weekend and I was always in awe of the ocean.

A Terrible Privilege...
This post was unexpected. Almost a month ago I shared my story about a compassionate teacher with #1000Speak. My daddy shared it on Facebook several times. One of his friends commented how he could relate to my story because he had attended an all white school before schools were desegregated. He called it "a terrible privilege". I could relate.

I've been itching to come around and say hello, but there is one thing I cannot do and blog at the same time. I cannot read and blog. My niche should have been book blogging, but then I may not have as many friends...
The cost of a mug shot...
I can’t believe how much it cost to get a passport. Geez. I guess the good news is that it doesn’t expire for a long time. But within that time, you might want to use it and get your monies worth.
So, we went to go apply for passports today. I’d been reminding Papa Bear that we needed to do this ever since we first planned our trip. I finally just let it go. If he wants to pay extra to rush them, then so be it. I stopped nagging.
Finally last week out of the blue he said he made an appointment for us to apply...

My first ten posts on this website were written between June and October of 2010. Back then my URL was postconfidential(dot)blogspot(dot)com and my blog title was Sporadic Publication.
I signed my first post with my name backwards Aynek Noillag Nosnhoj.
I wrote in one ginormous paragraph and I had no readers. My mom and dad didn't even know about my blog.
So here we go.
The Best Film I've Ever Seen (in one year)...
For the first time in my life, I have seen all the Oscar Best Picture nominations BEFORE the show goes live. I know right? I've always wanted to do that and print off the list and ballot online to mark down who I think will win. So yeah, I can't wait to sit down and watch the show.

Dem Dry Bones...
My back started hurting Sunday night. I've used the heating pad three times in the last 24 hours and have taken several showers to loosen up my joints.

Goodnight Roses...
As I turned off the lights in the kitchen, I left on one small light. I looked back and decided to take a picture of my roses because they looked pretty in the dim light. Of course the phone flash went off and I didn't feel like trying to figure out how to get the picture of how they really looked.
Don't feed OCD, phobias or ticks...
There's a television show that I used to watch called Monk. That show was the inspiration behind my original blog name "Here's the thing...". If you've been reading me a long time, you'll remember me using it as a tagline. Anyway, the character Monk was a crime detective who had OCD, and multiple phobias which made the show very funny.
Christopher has Monk tendencies.
My day in 5 minutes...
I just had a funny thought. I said, “I don’t have time to write a stream of consciousness post right now. I’ll write a long post later.” What kind of sense does that make?
This one is five minutes of my time. By the time I add the bells and whistles to the other one I want to write, it’ll likely be an hour or more out of my day.
The Kite: A Throwback Thursday Story
Christopher's two favorite things were airplanes and dinosaurs. So as a family we went out in search of a kite, which left me sitting in the car with the napping Christopher. I can tell you that it would have taken me a fraction of the time to go in a store to pick out a kite. Never send the man in to get the kite unless you want some alone time.
Homeschooling Black History...
I shared this quote this week along with a response to some interview questions I asked of my ten-year-old son. While it is a powerful quote from a ten year old, I also found it disheartening because I understood it's full context. This is a stream of consciousness post.
